Consultancy to British Council, Uzbekistan on a regional project (ETTE- English for Teaching, Teaching for English) 2007 - ongoing

Consultancy to British Council, Bangladesh for an English Language Teacher Certification needs analysis
The aim of this consultancy was to give recommendations for certification for Bangladeshi primary teachers. It involved research into the Bangladeshi teaching and learning context, a visit to Bangladesh to observe teachers and talk to stakeholders, and recommendations on a certification path.
Training Services to British Council, Nepal, for trainer training programme for Nepal and the region (Hornby Trust, January 2008)
This was a two-week training course aimed at developing teacher trainers for Nepal and other countries in the region. The aim was for teacher trainers to then use their skills on the ETTE project outlined above. All three trainer trainers were provided by Sue Leather Associates.
Consultancy to British Council, Tunisia, and the Ministry of Education and Training, Tunisia, for an English Teaching and Learning scoping mission
We supplied two of the three consultants for this two-week scoping of English Language teaching and Learning in Tunisia. (see Case Studies for details)
Training services to Primary teacher training project for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Yemeni Ministry of Education, Yemen
This involved repeated visits to Yemen to train primary teachers throughout the country.
Training Services to Teachers Association Development Project for Central Asia, British Council, Kazakhstan
One Sue Leather Associates consultant was asked to go to Astana, Kazakhstan, to provide training for a group of delegates from Teachers Associations from Kazakhstan, and other countries in the region. This training was part of the Strengthening Teachers Association regional project.
Consultancy to British Council, Mexico for an audit of language development courses for teachers, Latin America and Caribbean Region, British Council, Mexico
This was a regional project which involved Mexico, Cuba, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela Argentina and Brazil. It involved research into the availability of language development courses in Latin America and globally, and into the needs of local stakeholders.
Consultancy to British Council, UK, for a worldwide survey of English language materials currently available for training English language teachers.
This involved research into the needs of teacher with low levels of EL competence all over the world, including surveys of teachers, teacher trainers and other stakeholders. The recommendations that came out of this consultancy formed the basis of the British Council's global product 'Classroom English', which can be found at www.teachingenglish.org.uk
Consultancy to Canada Language Council for the ongoing development of an inspection scheme for a new Canadian Language Training Association
We were appointed as the external consultants to provide expert advice on a new accreditation scheme in Canada.
